Mount Vernon:  The Skagit Valley Chorale, a non-audition choir of over one hundred mixed voices, directed by Janet Skones Hitt, Conductor, presents "Celebrating in Song 2008," featuring Mozart's Requiem, an 18^th Century Classic that is becoming as familiar and gaining as much passionate popularity, as Handels Messiah.  The concert opens on Saturday, April 19, 7:30 PM and Sunday, April 20, 2:00 PM at McIntyre Hall Performing Arts & Conference Center, 2501 E. Janet Skones Hitt, Conductor, holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Seattle Pacific University and has taught music in the Everett public school system for over twenty-two years, working with grade levels K-12. Awarded the MPMEA Region "2006 Music Teacher of the year," Janet continues to inspire hundreds of choral singers and is in her fourth year as Director of the Skagit Valley Chorale.
