While ticket sales and member dues provide much of the financial support for the Chorale to offer quality choral music in a premier venue, this would not be possible without the generous donations from local businesses and individuals. Donations of any size are always welcomed and are tax deductible. The Chorale is a registered 501(c)(3) organization.

Donors are given recognition in our concert programs and on our website.

STOCK AND IRA QUALIFYING CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTIONS

For those over age 70.5 donating directly from your IRA account by way of a “Qualifying Charitable Distribution” provides for tax-free IRA distributions. Not only are the Qualifying Charitable Distributions tax-free but they also count towards your annual RMD requirement.

In addition to giving support via Qualifying Charitable Distributions from you IRA, we have established a brokerage account for donations of highly appreciated (low basis) securities. This provides for the double tax benefit of eliminating capital gains as well as getting a tax deduction equal to the fair market value of securities donated. The deduction is subject to income limitations so consult your tax professional on how the donation of highly appreciated securities may benefit you.
